Ranch House Casserole

This 1950's recipe in from a company called Ann Page that I've never heard of before. Is it the same company as the A&P grocery stores? They were not in the midwest so I'm unfamiliar. You'd have to substitute the Ann Page beans for some Van Kamp's or Bush's beans, but this dish would be a fantastic side to a summer barbecue! The recipe calls for a tablespoon of fat-you don't see that in recipes nowadays! Anyone know a good substitute??
